EP 131 - 5 Ways to Scale Your Photography Business (And How to Choose Yours)
This week on the Summer School podcast, I’m talking about something I get asked about all the time - how photographers can actually scale their business in a way that fits the life they want. There’s so much pressure online to grow one specific way, but the truth is there are a lot of different paths.
I share a little life update too because we somehow bought a house and moved in within 11 days (still processing that honestly), while also being days away from Summer Camp at Wind Mountain Ranch. Between all of that, I’ve been thinking a lot about sustainability, growth, and what building a long-term photography career can really look like.
In this episode, I break down a few different ways photographers can scale:
* becoming a legacy photographer and growing with your clients over the years
* building an associate team
* stepping into the luxury market
* creating education or digital products
* building a hybrid business with multiple income streams
I also talk through the realities of each path, because not every version of “success” fits every person. Some photographers want to shoot constantly, some want to teach, some want freedom and flexibility, and some want to build a larger company. None of them are wrong.
If you’ve been trying to figure out what your next step looks like, I think this episode will give you a lot to think about.
