EP 105 - From Creator to Educator: Finding Your Voice with Noella Andres
Hey friends - welcome back to the Summer School podcast! Today I’m sitting down with one of my good friends and absolute powerhouses in the education space, Noella Andres. Noella has helped launch so many incredible educators and is known for her innovative take on business and photography education.
Meet Noella Andres
Noella Andres has been in the photography game for over 20 years. Chasing love stories, and eventually finding her real passion: helping other photographers grow wildly successful businesses of their own. These days, she's all about marketing, brand partnerships, and business coaching, guiding photographers as they step into their next big thing, whether that’s launching a course, building passive income, or levelling up their visibility. She’s part strategy nerd, part hype girl, and fully invested in helping creatives find freedom in their business (and have a little fun doing it).
Building Your Own Path in Education
Something I love about Noella’s approach is that she reminds us education doesn’t have to look one specific way. Whether you’re building a full program, hosting workshops, or teaching through storytelling, it’s all about creating spaces where people can learn from you. Noella talks about the importance of trust - how newer educators can build it, and how established ones can use it to grow through courses or mentorships.
Why Community Matters
We both kept coming back to the same thing: community. Education shouldn’t feel one-sided. It’s about connecting, having real conversations, and helping people grow beyond a screen or a single class. Noella talks about how community-based education can spark the kind of change that lasts - and how it’s something every educator should prioritize.
Start with What You Know
If you’ve ever thought about teaching but didn’t know where to start, Noella’s advice is simple: start with what you already know. You don’t have to teach everything - just teach what you do confidently. The rest comes with time and feedback. She shares how experimenting, listening, and showing up consistently has shaped her journey (and how it can shape yours too).
The Heart of It All: Serving
We both believe the best educators are servants first. Whether it’s through your content, your coaching, or how you show up for your people, the goal is always to serve. Noella shares a few strategies for doing that in a way that builds authority and trust while still feeling authentic and aligned.
What’s Ahead
As Summer School continues to grow, I’m so excited about everything ahead - from new classes and collaborations to the return of Summer Camp. This conversation with Noella reminded me why we do all of it: to keep learning, sharing, and building something that lifts others up too.
